Another Instance of Washington Post Censors Removing an Innocuous Reader’s Comment for “Offending their Sensitive Feelings” by Questioning Why They Would Waste Ink Publishing a Story About Two Small Village Virginia Couples Bickering

This article appeared on the front page of the Sunday/16 July 2023 Washington Post (WaPo) but it had been the lead story on the WaPo’s website all day Saturday. The article was about a dispute between a Gay couple and a Straight Christian couple in rural The Plains, Virginia. Although the WaPo clearly sided with the Gay couple, the Old Colonel’s wife did not even comment on the dispute but rather questioned why the WaPo would publish an article about a tiny remote Virginia village that isn’t even a DC suburb and start it on the WaPo Front Page, then devote two entire Section A pages to the story.  Next below is the WaPo story headline and the link to the story in case anyone was interested in wasting their time reading it.  Then under that I have pasted in the exact verbatim comment the Old Colonel’s wife posted in the comments section that obviously so offended the WaPo Censors that they removed it for “violating the WaPo community standards” (as if the WaPo had any standards). You can read the comment and see for yourself if you can find anything offense about it.  I sure can’t. Also, all I see is criticism of the WaPo’s judgement in wasting readers time and WaPo ink with a story about two couples bickering in rural Virginia. Unfortunately, this is not the first time the WaPo has censored comments by the Old Colonel and now the Old Colonel’s wife.  Because the Old Colonel has been banned from commenting, the Old Colonel’s wife has to comment for both of us now. Below is also a link to the Blog article (in this Blog) explaining the arbitrary and capricious manor in which the WaPo bans commenters. It’s eye opening.

A gay couple ran a rural restaurant in peace. Then new neighbors arrived.

How did an obscure story about a small Virginia village of ~250 people 60+ miles from DC warrant being one of the lead stories on the Washington Post webpage? Is the WaPo going into completion with The Plains Weekly Shopper for “scoops?”

Is the WaPo really this desperate to displace the negative news about President Biden and his son Hunter or Vice President Harris out of the headlines that they sink to the level of tabloid journalism? And here I thought the WaPo was a respected National newspaper, live and learn. I expect to begin seeing the WaPo along side the National Inquirer in supermarket check out lines.

Why Comments in the Washington Post Comments Sections Run Ten to One Liberal

In recent years I have been a frequent WaPo commenter gleefully pointing out and correcting their numerous errors but have noticed fewer and fewer comments from Conservative readers have been showing up.  I had assumed that this lack of Conservative comments was attributable to fewer and fewer Conservative WaPo subscribers as the paper kept drifting further and further to the Left but recently I have learned otherwise.  It seems the WaPo just censures, deletes and ultimately bans Conservative commenters to avoid WaPo embarrassment from having their errors and biased coverage exposed.  I know this because that is what has happened to me.

Washington Post White House Christmas Decoration Article - WaPo Censors Tolerate Ugly Comments about Melania Trump but Promptly Delete Anything Not Flattering about "Doctor" Jill Biden

For their second Christmas in the White House, Biden continued her aim for a homier, more approachable decoration style than her predecessor, Melania Trump. The East Colonnade, known during Trump’s time as the spooky corridor of blood red trees, ….

With Geriatric Joe, Missing-in-Action Pete and Kacklin Kamala coming in Win, Place and Show in the race to the 2024 Dem presidential nomination sweepstakes, and a Socialist and six unknown rounding out the field; if Republicans aren’t so stupid as to nominate an unelectable Trump come 20 Jan 2025 we’ll inaugurate President DeSantis.
